The Hindi dubbed version, Shiva Aur Shobhan, released in 2011. The film's story is based on the lives of the real-life and fictional gangsters of the 1970s. The film features a cast of local actors, and is the first in the history of Telugu cinema to get the state censor board to certify a film for audience release. The censor board imposed a few cuts on the film but it was given a wide theatrical release. The film was a critical and commercial success and earned a record net of Rs 50 crore. A few days before the release, the censor board released a clarification, stating that Shiva was an "intended satire of movie titles like 'Shiva Leela' and 'Goddess of Wealth" as well as "unethical marketing practices by the film's sponsors". On April 3, 2011, the film was officially released after its theatrical run.

It stars Nagarjuna, Sonali Bendre, Ramgopal Varma, Kausalya and Nagendra Babu in lead roles. The music is composed by Anup Rubens. The film was released on 1 April 2011 and has won the Filmfare Award for Best Film – Telugu. The film was an official selection for the Golden Horses Film Festival 2011 at Rome. The film's trailer released on 15 December 2010.

The film is a remake of the 2010 Kannada film A. I. C. H. with a few additions in terms of story, pace and direction. This movie is also a remake of the Malayalam film Garshom. The film released on 29 March 2010.
